Welcome to the best Honda Goldwing forum in the world. I am curious why you are removing the starter? Do you have a manual? May be able to help some w/manual if need. PM is so.
Others will be along soon. May I suggest, however, that you ask a more specific question regarding removal.

If there are no clearance issues with the back of the starter motor (exhaust or shifter for instance) then it should slide forward and come out. There is a sprocket inside that the starter has to fit into. If the bolts are out it's gotta be stuck in it's hole. Squirt some WD40 in there and keep working it.
