Easy little test to do. At the solenoid disconnect (unplug) the yel/red and green/red wires. Now make up 2 jumper wires that go from the battery positive and negative. Connect those 2 wires to the terminals where you took off the yel/red and green/red wires. There is no polarity so either wire on either terminal. WARNING: the engine should spin over. Be sure the bike is in neutral. Reference the picture on the first page of this thread. Post #4 if it helps. Does the starter kick in and the engine turn over?

Only sparks, no attempt at start. So what else was just fried in doing that

Where ya from? I am not interested in the money, I just like puzzles and am a bit of an electronics geek.

I think he rides a 1500 but is working on a 77 GL1000. Check post #2.

you are right, but he is still in AriDzona :)

Forgot to mention, bike is: 1977 Honda Gl 1000.
