my 83 aspy has large cracks in the starter switch where the throttle cables go inand i found the metal tab that keeps the assembly from rotating sitting underneath the carbs. i found a used one cheap but its for an 82. will it work on mine? is it worth buying used or is this common enough that i will have the same problem?

I think the '82 and '83 are the same. Good luck finding an NOS switch. Honda dealers stocked alot of parts in the '60s and early '70s but almost nothing later years. Ever notice how Goldwing NOS parts are about non-existent?

i think that it would work . but its hard to find a used one that is not broken in the same area as yours . but they are out there . just be sure to ask the seller frist.

The throttle side controls on all the 1100s are the same, but the clutch side on the '83 is different because of the thumb operated choke lever. The earlier 1100s had a pull choke with a knob instead. The '83 type choke will still work on the earlier ones though.
