starter

Hello again everyone.Any body got a starter out there they want to sell.I took mine off and have a wire coming off the field that is supposed to be attached to something.Anyway starter won't turn over with it off bike,battery wire atached and grounded.solonoid just clicks.Have checked battery,OK,checked solonoid,OK.Thanks in advance for any help.James

on the starter---1985 though 1987 are the same. 1984 was the year that was only 84 . hope maybe this will help some.

Thanks WDA.That is a help.I just came from cycle salvage
about 55 miles from my home.He didn't have one but could order ,me a new one for $190.00.All the dealers I checked
with wanted $430.00 plus for theirs.He told me I would have it thursday.Maybe I can get it going.Thanks for your reply.

watch out for the made in china stuff. dont seem to hold up for too long. judging from some of the posts here.

thats what I did with my 84. bought a rebuild kit on ebay, then took it to a local auto electric guy for another $40. Worked out well...
