Hey fellas...I need to find the clear stickers that go over places on the bike to protect against scuffing. Tank sides, around the foot pegs etc...
I have found them before, but didnt buy them, now i cant locate them. Anyone know what I am describing? My bike is black, and the scuffs are starting to show from my passengers heels, and the inside of my legs.

After using the helmet hangers beneath the trunk a couple of times and finding scratches, I decided to make my own. Used the plastic front cover from a notebook (found in school supplies at the local store) marked up the pattern I wanted, cut it and used spray adhesive to stick it in place. The covers are cheap, durable and come in a variety of colors.... I chose a metallic black to go on a silver wing.

I have them on my false tank, as I still ride a bike like it's a racer, or Enduro .... gripping the tank with my knees. They do work well and are easy to apply, or to reapply/repostion, later. They really do prevent smudging the paint, as I always wear either textile riding pants, or leather pants, while riding

You can see the edge of it here in this shot, where I didn't get the edge laying exactly flat. Once I corrected that, you'd be very hard pressed to notice it on there.

Once installed, does the finish appear shiny again? Or do I need to prepare the surface, then apply the sticker? Its very noticable now, the scuffing I mean...and I want it to go away.

Try washing/claening it 1st ... then try some Turtle Ice detailer spray wax. If that doesn't remove it, you may need to try buffing it out with some fine rubbing compound .... a little at a time. Some use toothpaste.
