ITHINK I have a sticky cruise control switch (the set resume switch) and would like to clean the switch but the book doesnt go into how to take the switch assembly apart can anyone help. This is on a 92 Aspencade.



OK, lets ask it this way CAN you take it apart to clean it??:stumped::stumped:

Yes you can. There are a couple of long screws underneath the switch housing and undoing them will allow you to split the housing. You will be able to wiggle your way to the cruise switch and get some WD40 in to clean it. A bit of grease in there afterwards wll help prevent sticking again.

Thanks Steve, that fixed the problem and now the cruise is working great. It was full of a lot of gunk and dirt. Guess I should do the other side and put that on my maint. schedule to do every year. Thanks!!

Clean the reverse switch as well. It has the same mechanicals as the cruise on/off, but the results are disastrous if the reverse switch sticks on and you're in the middle of some parking lot!
