Stolen Scooter

My partner had her 03 Xtreme Daytona Scooter stolen last night, right in front of our house. She had it locked up, they must have just picked up the entire bike, lock, cover, and all, loaded it up and drove away...hadn't been a problem for three years
Worse yet, all her gear was in the bike - helmet, gloves, rain gear, thermal pants/jacket...
We are set to leave Monday to move out of state so this was NOT the time for this nonsense...at least they didn't take the GW - too heavy I guess.

I hope so too, but unfortunately, it is very unlikely.
It will be in Mexico very shortly.

Might have been someone who knew you were leaving.
Just a thought. Hope they find them and drag them through the legal system with a vengence.

Yeah.. sounds like an inside job...
Hope y'all get it back or get another one soon.
If you find 'em.. pound the s**t out 'em.. or have someone do it.

That is really a bad break. I don't understand that steeling stuff nor do I understand vandalism. What a bunch of crap. I hope your insurance is decent.

Do a google search for used scooter parts in your area. If you find a bone yard or place that sells parts, go down in person for a look. Tell them your looking for engine parts. that way you can look at vin numbers.

Sorry to hear about this, I hope you catch em before the cops do!

Keeping an eye on Ebay and Craigslist, but it will be hard to follow up in person since we are moving out of state on Monday - what a goodbye :/
In a strange twist, it may actually work out all for the best - we've found a bike for sale just east of our new city and will check the bike out on the way. It's a Honda Reflex (yippee - I don't have to chase parts for a Chinese make anymore! ), an upgrade for her (she was wanting a 250cc), and looks like a good deal. The owner is holding it for us until Monday so we can look it over, but it seems to be ideal.

Kind of crazy, but all the legitimate makes (Honda, Suzuki, etc) have discontinued the 200/225/250cc scooters! They all go 125/150cc to 400cc to 600cc???? The 400 is just too much for her, but the 125/150 isn't enough - but they've all discontinued that 200~300cc range.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts and support. It's been a crazy day.

I'm sorry you were a victimof some thieving scumbag.:X

I'm curious why a 400 is too much for her though? The 400 Burgman has a very low center of gravity and feels very light. My 5'4" wife who had never ridden anything bigger than a 50cc bike before had no problem with the Burgman, other than lack of confidence. The Reflex is a good bike I think and will probably suit her well, I was just wondering about what you said.

The Reflex will probably feel a whole lot bigger to her than the Xtreme did. Longer...

She'll get used to it.
