Hey Y'all
I know this is going to sound like a boneheaded question, but I managed to strip the head of the bolt on the oil filter and I was wondering if perhaps this is a reverse-threaded bolt (loosen clockwise instead of counter-clockwise)? Also, if anybody has any tips on what I should do now, I would greatly appreciate it. I have put penetrating oil on it to no availsince I am afraid the bolt is siezed a few inches away inside of the filter housing into the engine. For now I have just drained the oil as best I could from the drain plug and refilled the bike with oil.... just don't want to run too long on an old filter.
In the past month I have pulled the fairings and bags and straightened their mounts; pulled, flushed, and refilled the radiator; replaced the water pump; replaced the timing belts; cleaned the carbs and replaced all filters (except the oil, of course); replaced the brakes and repaired the rear master cylinder; replaced the mirrors and handgrips; replaced the tires with some Elite IIIs (love em!); reconditioned the final drive; replaced the headlight assembly; and last, but not least: cleaned, polished, buffed, cursed, and pondered just about every exterior surface on the bike.... yes, I have no life.
...and boy, are my hands tired.
