Reading about cleaning or changing these filters, but I cannot found them in the Clymer manual. Can someone please tell me where they are located on 88 1500. Thanks

The sub filter is on the right, the cruise filter is on the left.
If you will look at the right panel, between the 2 vents, the sub filter is between the 2 vents bolted to the frame once you get the panel off. The cruise filter is behind the left panel, almost straight above the reverse lever.
When taking off the reverse lever, make sure you remove the center bolt, not the screw.
The compressor filter is on the compressor located on the left side under the seat and behind the left saddle bag.

Helpful info for me too...thanks.
You can save some $ when you change them out. Get a large foam paint brush from the hardware store. Cut it up to make new filters. You only save a couple $, but Mother Honda will probably have to order them for you.

Can also buy 1/4" thick foam filter media from Walmart, sold for air conditioners... Only $1 for a package that makes about 100 of the sub-air or cruise filters!

As with all foam filters, be sure to lightly Oil them prior to installation.
