My project is ready for inspection and licensing. After that it'll have to be parked outside my work shed while an engine is assembled and installed into a Kawasaki Concours so I need a cover that fits, won't scratch paint or plastic, and is able to tolerate wind and heavy rain without ripping. There's so many on the market I'm turning to the community for advice.

get a really good triple layer, full bike cover, that has a vent in the top to allow moisture to escape.

I have one, and it lasted over 50 years, and was still looking good when I gave the bike to my son

when I leave the bike at a hotel, I throw a half cover over it,
then a full cover over that....

"theft deterrence", what they can't see, they don't mess with,

stop to rest and grab a bite?
throw the half cover over it to keep the sun from ruining the GPS and LCD displays

The main thing I'd suggest, is to put some old socks over the mirrors and a T-shirt over the windshield. Then secure the cover so the wind won't blow it around so much.

I've had about 5 covers, from an OEM to a 28 dollar travel cover that folds up small enough to fit into my helmet, and they all seem to do the job, more or less. None of them are "really" waterproof, no matter what they promise.

I bought one from the local Walmart that served me we. Cover was well worth the $27.
