I just replaced my side white light bulbs tha were burntout with some from the local auto parts. These bulbs barely light at all. How bright should these lighst be, did I get lower output bulbs . In any casehas anyone tried replacing those bulbs with larger brighter bulbs, maybe having to change the socket??

those are 3 Watts (? or less) bulbs, don't expect them to be very bright :(

I wonder if an LED could be made to work. Electrical guys, help us out here.

Those lights really have no function. But with brighter bulbs mayhelp the Twelves be more visible at night.

If I recall correctly, those bulbs are the type with no base on them.

Oops! just read another post and LEDs may be too much work for very little return. So scratch that idea. We just need to search forbrighter bulbs.

I didnt look at any number. I looked at the size and it looked like it would fit so I purchased it. May exchange them with the next order from jc whitney.Or may just cut and splice a new socket with amber bulbs.

manual says 4 watt, so they are a running light, I have seen them replaced with LEDS on a 1500, and they do show a lot whiter, although the light is central, not spread through the cover glass.

cheers,
