Zonk, 900 will work but that is a little on the low side. 1000 RPM's is about correct but that doesn't allow the charging system to keep even with all the brake lights on. On my personal 1200 I set the idle speed to 1040 cool & that leaves it at about 1060 when fully warm after an hour or so of riding, that allows the charging system to at least add something at idle.
