The ex- Certified Honda Mechanic who retired last year from our Local Honda Shop is going to put me in a Water Pump, Do a Carb Sync, and Adjust the Valves on my 83 Aspencade for a Wicked $40.00! Talking about a great price nd deal, I believe I found one here! He could listen to it and tell you what was wrong with it! Not bad. If anyone needs any Honda work around Gadsden, Alabama, this man will treat you right. He could use the money. If you do, PM me, and I will get with him for you.

Sounds like you are getting one heck of a deal! Most shops will not even listen to your bike for less than $75.00. My local shop charges $140.00 an hour. Yes, you are getting a GREAT deal.

$140.00 per hr.... Typical american price gouging in my opinion.

Wow,my shop charges 50 bucks an hour, sounds like I got a deal too.

Of course it's not a mother honda shop I'm speaking of,no telling what they charge...

$140.... thats insane, the most I've seen is $75

Here its 85 an hour, if you buy tires from there, will install for half of that.I expected the tires to be higher priced, actually had the best price on the tire also.

Local stealership here in Myrtle Beach is $120/hour. When my shop was still open, my rate was only $65/hour.

For 40 bucks huh, He's a fool to work that cheap.
You would think after all those years he would know how to price a job out.
He's only hurting himself.
If you have any compassion at all you will give him a bonus.

Maybe his local Honda dealership is charging $65 an hour who knows. If you have the tools and you have the gear and a place to do it $40 is a nice bit of pocket money. Lets face it, the company he worked at didn't pay him $40 per hour, more like 20 to 25. There will be jobs his old dealership won't handle and be happy to pass on to him, headaches and old Gold Wings..

The man is certainly not a fool nor a thief, he is a compassionate human being that believes in 'doing unto others' !! It looks more like he is an honest person willing to give others a break in this crappy economy. Nightrider1 you are a lucky man to know someone like that. Good for you, and good for him!:clapper:

But I agree with cyclewizard on the bonus issue!!

Good on ya Al, I used to do that too and then I made the mistake of setting up in business. It's really amazing how few people know how to do the simplest things, like changing out a light bulb in their car or even checking the battery.. the stories I could tell you, but you have your own!
