There are two screws holding this to the fairing. I want to remove it to work on it. Are there nuts on those screws that will fall into the fairing when I remove them?

Also, my starter button is sticking. Can I just spray some contact cleaner into the area around the button or do I have to take the piece apart?

There are 4 screws holding the instrument panel to the fairing. (Look close, up on the underside of the top) I was able to remove the screws on my '83 with no problem. Also had a sticking starter and horn button. I used my old favorite, WD-40 and then some Armor-All

I love WD-40 so much, that I can't wait for WD-41 to come out.

Yes; it should be long enough to pull forward thru the fairing so it can be disconnected.

Remove the front turn signals and put your hands in the fairing to catch the wingnuts on the dash and speakers (you will do the speakers too after the nuts holding the mirrors fall off )
