The throttle on my 83 1100 is tight and requires a tight hold when I ride, the result is a cramp in my hand and I'm constantly having to engage the throttle lock so I can shake it off.

Is there any way I can adjust the tension so it's no so tight?

Not really but someone could have install the main return spring on incorrectly when rebuilding the carbs causing it to be stiffer..you might try oiling the area around the spring too not likely to help but it couldn't hurt.

There is also a "palm" throttle which allows you to rest youir palm on a tab and hold the throttle open..forget the name for now.

The one I have is called a Cramp Buster. They are in the $10 range. Really eliminates the "death grip" and works very well for me!
