Hello all!

Hope I didn't miss the obvious in a search but can someone tell me definatively if I have the fuel pump out and connect 12+ across the pump ignoring the reserve sensor should the pump Kick?

The tank had been left half full buy someone else and it dryed and rusted as they do so on cleaning the pump and brackets I tested it with a strait 12 across the wires. I soaked it in diesel a while in case it was dried in place!

What do ya reckon?

Hi Steve and welcome yes the pump should run with 12volts across the terminals.If there is rust in the tank then it might be bunged up or US ,you need to clean out all rust before fitting a new pump or you will bung up the fuel system an carbs!!:waving::waving::waving:

Thanks Uncle Shrek! I'm treating the tank as we speak and doing the bits and pieces like the pump in between. I'll put another in I reckon.
Thanks for the speedy reply. I'd say you must be burning the midnight oil over there as it's only 6.30pm Tuesday here!
