I know there are a lot of folks in Texas that would enjoy a nice ride so maybe we can start something here.

If you have an idea or want to let us know of the upcoming events please do so. Lets get some thing going here.

:waving:...Funny you should bring this idea up for a Texas ride.....I have been talking to several Texas members about having a one day M&G, and everyone is in agreement that we do need to have a M&G soon....For one in the next month maybe at Lake Conroe for a one day, then a three day M&G in the spring ....

So yes a Texas ride is in order........But lets not wait too long because we Texans all know the weather can change in a heart beat.....Any other ideas guys????

Well, I can certainly do the Conroe thing some Saturday in the near future. Here we have a long hot summer without much rain at all and as soon as the weather gets just a little bit cooler, here comes the rain. Maybe it'll stop in a week or so and we can actually get some really nice riding weather.:action:

Hill Country in the springtime, h*ll yeah if I can get away with it.:clapper:

On the "Houston Bunch" M&G, I would like to suggest Lake Conroe on October 17th , which is the third Saturday of October, This give us a few days before to plan out as to exactly where we will meet and someone to plan out a short ride..Then if some want to stay later and just sit around shooting the breeze that would be good too...Need to find a place that if any one wants to camp out over night and ride back home Sunday morning.....Ideas guys?????

I'm all for a Conroe ride, some good riding roads up that way.

I'd say they could stay in my backyard, but the wife might have other ideas on that:cheeky1::cheeky1:.

Seriously, there are 2 motels right there at the lake, they are less than a 1/4 mile apart, I live right down the road from them. There is also the KOA campground a little farther down 105, might be a place to check into for the M&G, plus there is a little park right off of 105 at the lakes edge. There is a couple restaraunts right in the area also, so grub can be attained.

Claude, I know there are a few other rides going on in the area during that time frame. I have a magazine at home that has all the rides happening in Texas. I know there is a ride ending at Papa's on the Lake, but can't remember what weekend it is. I'll check it out when I get home tonite and let you know what rides are happening that weekend.

You bet, I'm interested. Whether it's a day long M & G or just a get together for coffee or a meal. Dates don't make much difference for me, as I have to schedule ahead anyway. The longer get togethers would work the same way for me.

That sounds GREAT. I am extremely busy that day though. I have my nephew's 1st birthday that day and my birthday is the 16th am supposed to be out at the Texas Renaissance Festival to camp with some friends.(If anyone is interested in making a weekend out at the TRF it is a great time.) I am going to be in Conroe for the party and my be able to come by before and possibly after the party. Just need an idea of when and where everyone will be.

I think it's a great idea! However I have to work that weekend.:(

I guess its on then???? If Chief and 93 Wing will get us some ideas for a ride Then all we need now is a meeting place and a time to start...Suggestions???...If I were making a suggestion to meet it would be Cracker Barrel at maybe 9 AM , have breakfast picture ops and then ride out???...This is only my idea lets hear some others......

Just off the top of my head I suggest a big loop around the lake. !05 over to Montgomery, 149 north to 1375 which will take us through a bit of the Sam Houston National Forest, east over to New Waverly, 75 back down to Conroe. If thats too far for some we can cut across the midpoint of the lake on 1097 from 149 to Willis and make it about half as long. I think meeting for breakfast and then a ride is a great idea, we can stop after for lunch and shoot the bull for awhile or just go on your way if you want.

That's kinda what I was thinking too, I'm going to look at some routes farther out west as a backup. The breakfast thing sounds good to start it off, just pray for a sunny day.....

What about us Louisiana boys? Are we invited?

Load it up and "come on down".....There is a KOA camp ground on HWY 105 .....New really nice place.....Will post maps to it and to the Cracker Barrel Restaurant in the next day or so.....This M&G is open to all forum members ....Nothing fancy just put some faces with some names and then a ride in the East Texas Piney woods....Then who knows maybe some more tire kicking....

We could always stop in the Harley place up there. Would love to see their faces when a bunch of Goldwings drop in.:dude::dude:

OK guys please PM me if you are going to make this ride, plus passengers...I will need to let Cracker Barrel know about how many tables we gonna need.....I failed to mention in my eagerness to get something going that I-45 is under construction both ways... So when exiting you will have to be extra careful of the feeder roads........See you there....:action::action::action::action:...

OH Gawd Texan Harley would be throwing old Harley parts at us..:cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1:..Hey that might not be bad I need a spare light for my trailer.........My youngest son lives on Loop 336 and every time we visit him all you hear is the Harleys ripping up and down 336......This might be a very positive thing...Us riding our "electric quite motorcycles"....:action::action::action::action::action:

Claude.....

PS: I changed my avatar to one like my "New" Wing.....The Cushman days are over for now.......

Good looking 1100 Claude. I just bought a naked 1100.. like I needed more to do. Still got a '75, #311, in the barn, a work in progress.. I just have too many things "in progress" :)

Is that the Cracker Barrel at exit 91? easy in & out.
