Thankyou to everyone for the advice and tips. My bike is alive and riding just the carb sync to go. The flooding was the exhasut valve having no clearence for an opening. the charge was the RR thank goodness. My last question is I am going to rebuild the old girls engine eventually and want to get prepared for this. Is the a good manual out there to do this. Any help would be great.

That would be the factory OEM manual..

but, personally, I'd never rebuild a wing engine.. they are readily available with low mileage for afew hindred dollars.. I'd just change it out when it needs a lower end... 'course, you might just be wanting the expensive experience:waving:

run it till it needs it...big job to overhaul it...unless you got nothin else to do...but sandiegobrass is right just plug and play with another engine...that is confirmed good... is much cheaper and easier

why in the world would you want to rebuild, when there are plenty of "Oldwings" with decent milage out there, I got mine for $2,400 with 95,000 miles on it, looks almost new, and runs great.

Yeah, if the engine ever 'craps out', just take it apart and sell the items on Ebay. You'll probably get more than you paid for it.

I'd also chase down a used engine. The if you want to rebuild one you could rework your original one and still have a bike to ride. The problem with rebuilding is the cost of the parts gets pretty high. If you go to the bother of splitting the case then it doesn't make sense not to redo the rings and/or pistons, valves, bearings, etc., ect. Those pieces are pretty expensive. The other factor is that if you have a good engine they tend to run near forever if you maintain it reasonably, bearings, and piston rings and valves are very long lived. Water pumps and stators are the two main parts along with fuel pumps that do fail now and then but they aren't terribly difficult or expensive to replace if you do your own work.

So how many miles is an 1100 hundered engine good for. Thank you all for the feed back. I will just replace the clutch then as it is starting to slip and the sator why i am at it. THe rest i will run it till it dies. I only have 98000 km on it about 58000 miles or so. I guess it is still good, except it is starting to burn oil but not much. Maybe i will go buy anoth wing and make it my winter project to get going. Thansk again

my 84 interstate has 98,000 miles and still going strong, no problems, very reliable. Can cruise at 90 al day.
