thanks for all the replies to my question about going into neutral, certainly laid my fears to rest, I made the gentleman an offer on the 87 aspy today, hopefully I'll soon be a member of this wonderful goldwing community. :waving:

Welcome, you'll find it a lot easier to get in here, than it is to get some of those old 1200's into neutral..... :grinner: :gunhead:

Just kick it slowly down to first, then if you miss it, you only have to hunt in one direction. I usually have a more sensitive feel of the shifter when lifting it,due to the lack of a heavy sole on the top of my shoe.
