This is without doubt one of the most reliable, best operating motorcycle sites on the net......

I feel privileged to be here; and I don't contribute enough. Starting at the end of the November, I'm gonna "subscribe" to the site and send it $20 a month.... if the rest of you aren't doing something like that, then you should!

I don't know what was wrong with the site yesterday but when I tried to make a post last night it kept telling me the username I choose was already in use by somebody else!!

Now everything is back to normal. Can't wait for the update to happen and the new features are available.

Yes that was the problem, none of us could post for about eight hours. It turned out to be something I had to get Jim at Ultra to fix.

It was deleting non-posters that caused the problem. I had the bright idea of deleting them at source, ie the Control Panel on the server, instead of here on the forum itself. The idea itself was sound as it's much faster to do it at the server end and it worked fine for a couple of weeks until Friday when I didn't delete one properly. I deleted the contents of one non-posters profile instead of deleting the actual account and that screwed up posting for eight hours on Saturday.
We live and learn as they say.

You have to have your wits about you Steve when working in the root folder of a forum as it's easy to crash a table. The error messages I got when Itried to postlooked serious, leaving a row blank will do odd things and we are fortunate that Jim fixed it quickly.
