A question in the gun forum made me think about tires, How do they get manufactured. A motorcycle manufacturer looks at a tire available on the market and recommends that for his bike or a tire manufacturer makes a custom tire for that bike,
Is there any other bike that uses the very same tire the GL 1800 has?
How does the progress evolve?

Tire and motorcycle manufacturers work together to design a tire (or tires) that serve a number of conditions for a given class of motorcycle.

Motorcycles like the Goldwing take somewhat longer to design than tires, although there are years of testing and iteration for both.

Sometimes motorcycle manufactures just choose the size they want and order it at an tire manufacturer .
An example is the Honda Rune , - the front tire is wery special and is only made by Dunlop (150/60 R 18 ).
No others use this size !

When I had my VT 100 T the tires that came on it were a weird size. when I replaced them I had to go up 1 size in width.
