I like looking at the sky as I ride to work early each morning. It tells me so much about what the day is going to be like and what to expect for the next couple days. The sky had thin cirrus clouds with red tinges to them. The possibility of rain within the next couple days is present. I don't know why I like clouds, but I do. Off in the distance I saw two lone geese plowing their way North. Their necks stretched, their bodies flowing to the beat of their wings; relentless in their pursuit of home. Calling them, instinct driving them. One of them must be having trouble since there are only two. When one can't keep up with the group another one stays with it to help it home. I hope they make it to enjoy their summer in the mild Northern climate until they migrate South again in the fall. I hope my Northern friends get to see these two wonderful spirits on their trek home; bringing warm breezes, sunshine and opening another riding season for each of us. Welcome them home and be inspired to be as free as they are, riding with the spirit of their flight; share their odyssey!

I'll have to agree with you. I dig looking at God's creation as I ride. My old job, I got the privelege of riding at the time the sun was just rising. Made for some wonderful early morning riding.

Bernie,

I agree with you. I love to see the morning sun crawl up and over the mountains east of my home.

Here, in the desert, the time zone never changes, so my "sun time" keeps moving around on me.

For the last few weeks, I have been leaving in full darkness. For the last few days, there has been a hint of light, more like a dull glow over to the east.

By the time I make it to work, it is daylight, but no sun showing as of yet. So, two more weeks and I will be going to work in full sun.

Not too many cirrus clouds in my country. Not many clouds either for that matter.

I watched part of a movie last night called "Taking Chance" about a Marine officer's trip escorting a fallen Marine (true story) home. I didn't get to see where his home was but it was one of the Western states. The view of the rocky mountains with a beautiful river flowing between them and a country asphalt road that just begged to be ridden. I thought what a wonderful place and how much I would like to ride that road! Yea! I'm yearning for clean air, sunshine; riding in the splendor of God's glory! Man, I wish I could ride with each and everyone on this forum!

The early morning is the best part of the day. Everything seems so fresh at that time.

I need to get out, my rides are plenty, but they are here. I need to feel the country again, I need to see the country again, the wind against my body. I'm having too many memories of past rides, I need to make them present now. It's time, it's time for me to ride until I feel the pleasure that I feel on a long casual, easy, beautiful, simple, two lane highway road, where everything else if forgotten and it's just me and the wife on our trike. Soon it will be. I need to ride.:(
