The Wing is naked now, kinda

Well, I always knew I was a cruiser style rider, touring bike was just not for me. Loved the power however so I sold the Wing and bought a Valkyrie. Don't hate me, the guy who bought the wing loves it and had one years ago. It went to a good home. As some of you know, my best friend, Don, Ironbutt, Douglas, was killed on the road in Arizona last father's day and this new Valk is my tribute to him. He put thousands of miles a month on his Valk and loved to ride.

Thanks to all who have lent a hand in explaining all my questions, I will still hang around the site because ya never know, an 1800 may be in my future some day. ;-)

Take care all, ride safe and enjoy each mile.

Very nice!! I've always considered those to be Wings anyway.

I ride a Valkyrie too, and have no intention of getting rid of it any time soon.

I think of it as a bike with all of the dependability of a Wing without all of the "accessory" crap. More Performance and easier to get on and off of.

I have said it before: when I went shopping for my latest bike, I would have bought a new 1800 if they made one in an Interstate version. ( Without all of the gadgets, just a bike.) But nope.....so I bought the Valk.

Note: I would be happy it it had a gas guage though.

Very nice ride. But don't leave the site. It's kinda nice having everyone around. Ride safe!!:action:

Nice wheels.

My dream bike is a Red/Black Valkyrie Interstate. And one day I will have one, if I have to rob a bank to do it.

That is the ONLY cruiser I would ever consider buying. Absolutely gorgeous bike, especially the fully dressed versions. Nothing like the sound it makes with triple pipes!

A couple years ago I found one that needed carb work for $3800. I'm still kicking myself for not picking it up and selling it for double that. If I hadn't already had a VFR I would have just kept it.

Me too. I always felt the same way.

Stick around, you still belong as much as any of us.

And it's a nice looking bike.

I've always thought to get a 1500 after the 84 Aspy, but, the Valk may be my next bike. It has the look and power i want and can be configured the way I want. Two years, either a 1500 or a valk, we'll see.

Holy crap! I can't believe you replaced your Goldwing with some, well, some other thing!
Actually I love your new bike. Sharp. The rider could use a little upkeep but the bike is nice. :cheeky1:
I just got back from a ride on my 1800. I'm totally torn right now. I just can't get along with the looks of this damn thing and I just don't like the Honda whine. I think I might sell it and buy something else. Yet, when I'm cruising down the highway, I wonder if any other bike could give me that nice of a ride. Crap. Maybe this is like nice guitars. You really can't have just one.

Hey, my dad just bought a Valk. also. It is definitely considered a wing in my book
( and on the title, and on the insurance cards, and on kbb.com) ( LOL)
I love it, it is the same style motor as my 1500, but beefed up and with 6 carbs. Holy crap will that thing run. Congrats on the new bike, i love the color scheme

Fantastic !! I'va always loved those things.

One day, there will be one in my garage, too . . . . . . . beside a 'Wing.
