Rest thethermo switch on top of a vise with the termanals between the two claws but nottoo tight, then gently tap the center of the copper sending unit with a small FLAT nail punch and hammer.

The copper sending unit will strech down in the center.......about 1/64 to 1/32 at a time.

In antifreeze boils at 220 degrees F, put the sending units tip into the boiled antifreeze (no bubbling) and the thermo switch should kick on at about 215 degrees. It takes a minute to warm up....use jumper wires to an ohm meeter to test.

The thermo switch should open the circuit at 180 degrees.

Be careful not to puncture the copper sending unit as it is hollow and copper is soft.
