Throttle assy, handlebar...

I need to remove the throttle from the handlebar, but not sure exactly how to do it. I took the housing which holds the cruise control apart, but couldn't get the grip to slide off. Am I missing something? I have an '05 1800. Thanks for any help as I'm not much of a gearhead.

Someone will be along in a short while to help you out there. Meanwhile, glad to see someone close to me. We ought to meet at the DQ there in Payson

Thanks, but the local DQ won't work...it's just too close to home. I'd highly recommend a visit to Mormon Lake Lodge for some deliriously delicious cinnamon ice cream. Of course, we'd need to work up an appetite by rolling over to Prescott Valley, jumping over to Jerome, do a couple of laps, then over to Oak Creek Canyon via the back road from Cottonwood; then lunch at Agasszi Ski Lodge at Snowbowl, finally ending up at Mormon Lake Lodge for a well deserved high energy treat! Now, that is the way to prepare oneself for ice cream!

I'm not sure on the 1800s but every other bike I've owned you loosen the bars, then by moving the bar to the left it gives enough slack on the wiring and throttle cables to allow the removal of the throttle sleeve.
