1988 – There are 11 fuses. (None in the relay box)

Fuse # 11 (15-amp) Horn/Turn. (Powers the # 8 Ignition/Cruise relay)

1989 – 1992 – There are 12 fuses.

Fuse # 12 (ignition relay and tail relay) located in the relay box.

Note: It provides power to “trigger” the # 8 ignition/cruise relay
and the # 3 tail main relay.

1993 – 2000 – There are 13 fuses.

Fuses # 12 (head relay) located in the relay box.

Note: Fuse # 12 powers the starter/reverse switch for head lights.

Fuse # 13 (backup memory) located in the relay box.

Note: Fuse # 13 powers the memory for the radio, CB and clock.

Note: There are two other fuses:

1. Main Fuse A (30-amp) located by the starter relay A.

2. Main Fuse B (55-amp) located by the battery.

Thanks DBohrer, Your info on the wiring of these beasts is always helpful to electrically challenged people like me. I always print your info out and carry it on the bike just in case I'm away from home and something don't work like it should. Used to be a regular on this site, went by the handle of Satan, his post were always helpful. Knew the wiring on these things so well I believe Mother Honda called him for help. Havn't seen a post from him in a long time. You have filled the spot very well. Thanks again!

Hello,
thought I'd add a post to this topic rather than post a new one seen hopefully it's related?

After sum searching I'm unable to find exactly or anything that helpful to fixing the prob I'm having.

I just recently pulled my bike from storage after 2 yrs (wife's stroke) and the bride is ready to ride! (Waiting on a handicap sidecar to be built)

The problem: Radio.......
with the radio on it's as if the mute button is on (I can hear the radio playing but very low)
switching the mute button on and off makes no difference in the sound (still same volume, low)

the mute button does stickmost times,
I've sprayed it generously and it works freely now, I've yet to use any contact cleaner on it (that's the next step)

Also:
every time the ignition turns on it's turn back on in the "AM" mode (like it's lost power)

I will also check those relays mentioned within this post for a bad connection ( None of the other systems seem to be affected, that I'm aware of)

thanks for any help that you are able to provide.

Kirk

I just use a contact cleaner on the mute button (nothing changed)

I turned CB on and the squelch all the way up and it is very loud (normal volume)

not able to get to those relays until tonight or tomorrow.

Kirk, When you open the relay box, check the # 13 5-amp backup fuse. It powers memory for the radio, CB and clock.

Have you noticed the clock not keeping time (while the ignition is off)...??
