Locally posted Avon front tire for GL1200A for $25 but it's 4 years old with 4000 miles (tire only). My E3 rear just cost $290 installed (Canadian prices )on wheel (I did the wheel removal) so $25 looks good (plus $25 for install when needed) but is a tire this old even worth buying?

How has it been stored? Indoors? no weight or pressure on it? And check very carefully for dry rot

I know that tires are not inexpensive . But at 4 yrs old I would pass if possible and save me some coins till I could buy a new one . That said , have you looked at Maxxis or Kendra as there a little lower in the price range . Ahh looking to see your on a 1200 . Be sure what ever you buy has a weight rating to suit your bike and passnegers .

I'd pass on it, but it should work for a while if your in a pinch depending on the way it's been stored. At least with Car tires, they say that the tires should be replaced if they are more than 5 years old.
