bought the wing last monday , came back from a tripfrom northern norway . 2100 km in the first week :action:. being new here i could notfind the posting for tires. my question is as follows , the front tire is a dunlop k 177 , the back tire is a dunlop elite 3 , witch makes a huge amount of noise , the pattern of the tire is different from the old k177......

any other brands you can recommend ? this is my 3rd wing , i have allways had k177 on the bikes .and now ive heard that dunlop has stopped making the k177 series .i have to try and find some other tires because the noise from the back tire is driving me nuts !!!:(has anyone expericened the same as me ?

A friend of mine put Avons on his 1500some years ago and they made a lot of noise also. I use Bridgestones on mine and have found them to be good for quietness, grip and longevity.

A lot of people on the site are happy with the Michelin Pilot GT tires, including myself. They were made specifically for the gl1500.

Put on new rubber, pay attention to the tire manufacture date....when it's 2-3 years old, get new rubber again... be safely confident... {Even though a tire may look perfect, and still have the little rubber knobbies on it, if it's 5 or so years old, it'll fly apart....been there, and had it happen...

The pilot GT's are very good traction tires but not very quiet.

No tires could ever make it 5 or 6 years on my Bike as much as I ride :D:D

(around 17 18,000 miles a year).

I myself love the E 3'S, either mine make no noise our I'm just enjoying the ride so much I don't hear them, could be the tunes turned up also.

But I'm enjoying the ride not sitting and listening

for something I don't wanna hear.:gunhead:

I have never gotton less than 16,000 miles off ofa Dunlopand that was the cheaper D404 for my other bike.

Just my 2 cents worth.....;)
