And found bad news. Someone broke into the house and robbed my almost blind. 42" plasma, all my firearms (which were inherited from my father), over 300 dvd's, 3 guitars, computer, lock box and countless other items. These scum took their time and knew what they were looking for. They didn't know anything about pool, because the walked over my Mcdermot cue. they left the guitar amp and stepped over a 40 channel CB. They took some of the kids toys and clothes. Left over a dozen knives. They couldn't figure out how to get into the garage or i'd be looking for a new bike.

However, they were stupid. They didn't wear gloves!! So, the cops got some good prints. We have very good idea who did it. The worst part is I have to look at these people almost every day as they live right next door.

So, if any of you have serial numbers stored in a fireproof lock box, take them to the bank and put them in a safe deposit box. Now i have no way to prove the guns belong to me if the cops find them. Even if they turn up in a pawn or gun shop I would have to but them back EVEN with the serial numbers!!!

Thanks for listening

I hate to hear that Rick. That sucks big time.

If I saw a gun that belonged to me in a pawn shop, I'd get it back one way or another. Look for other ways to prove ownership, like family and friends that can attest to ownership. Either way, trust me when I say I'd get them back.:X

Sorry to hear about that, that really sucks. Hope they catch the dirtbags.

that does suck, must be a way to get stuff back though, i'd start checking pawn shops, find one call cops and figure it out then:action::waving:

Man that really sucks!! Low life scums don't give a crap what kind of pain they leave behind.

As for the guns, if you do have the serial numbers and report those on your police report, you should not have to buy them back if they turn up in pawn. I've had one rifle stolen twice, and ended up in a pawn shop once, and the police brought it back to me after they confiscated it from the pawn shop.

Very saddened to hear this.:(If you have insurance it can replace many things. What it cannot replace are things passed down to you by your family and the fact that you and your family have been violated. Glad that you and your family are OK. Hope they catch who did this.

Sorry to hear that.

I was burglarized once too. And the ONLY reason cops even cared about it, was because a pistol and a rifle were part of the stolen loot. If it hadn't been for that, they would not even have come out.
imported post

Ditto!! :X

I was also burglarized years ago, but didn't lose near what you did. I probably drove up and scared them off. Funny thing, there were a lot more valuable items near by they could have taken. Oddly enough, when I went to work that afternoon, I was telling about it, and what was taken, and one of the guys ask me to describe some of the fishing gear that was taken. He said he'd just left a service station where the owner had just bought some stuff that just fit that description. I notified the sheriffs dept., and they sent an officer out to investigate, and sure enough, the low life had pawned every bit of my belongings there. One in a thousand that would happen again.

That sucks bigtime :X I don't own any firearms, but I have a decent guitar

collection & I would be crying & very angry at the same time if any were stolen..

Sorry for your loss & the feeling you must have of being violated :cussing:

We were robbed of everything right at Christmas Eve while we were away 10 years ago. All the kids were home at the time, well they are always home at Christmas time, but they lived here at that time. It is a real downer to say the least, they are scum. It was Christmas and my wife asked to to forgive them, no way, I could not. Lucky I didn't fine them.

Sorry to hear your loss.

Sorry you are yet another victim of lazy, and useless thieves. It's gonna get worse, I'm afraid. Hope you recover your stuff, jimsjinx

Ok, this just keeps getting better and better. I get home from work and there's a Chevy blazer in front of my house. The woman driving it says she knows who broke into my house and where my stuff is. She continues to tell me what was stolen. Everything she says is right. She then says she'll tell the cops everything, for $500!!!!! Now I understand that if I were to find everything and buy it all back it would cost a heck of alot more. But I've already been the victum ofone crime and I'm not about to wolling become a victum of extorsion. Now IF everything comes back I MIGHT think about giving her something, but what are the chances of everything being returned, I'm mean they also took a box of twinkees and a box of HoHo's. Seriously!

did you by chance get the tag number of the blazer ?? give it and the info to the cops.

That Blazer wasn't white by chance was it. My buddy's house was hit by some thieves about 16 miles from you in Pa. His place had a few video cameras going for security, and shows a full-size white suv. It shows some faces and the police have a copy of the video.

He lost c.d.'s,computer,stereo,t.v.,guns, and for some reason a bird bath. These @#^%$*&! just want quick-sell items to get cash for drugs. But I can't figure the bird-bath/fountain... :gunhead:

Sorry to read about your misfortune. That happened to me as we were moving in to our present house. Welcome to the neighbourhood----yes indeed.

I too, lost all of my firearms, including my fathers cherished old Winchester 30-30. They took my old TRS 80 from Radia Shack and that is what got me into a real computer, back in 92. I remember literally sobbing at the frustration when I saw that my guns were gone--so I know very well the feeling that you have.I gaveall the registration numbers to the police, and several years later, I got a call from the police saying that one of my shotguns had been seen in a Quebec pawn shop. Of course, all my guns had already been replaced by my insc. co. . so they would have gotten the gun. I did very well on the gun replacement,if you don't count the family heirloom.

Sounds like a good racket the thieves have going--double jeopardy

What a thing to come home to. Ditto on what 83wing said. I hope you reported the extortionist to law enforcement. I wouldn't pay her. Had she come forward and not asked for a reward, then you might feel generous, but not the way she handled things.

Yes I did get the tag number. Haven't really decided what to about the other. There's nothing to prove that she said it. I do have small digital voice recorder and I hope she calls me. Then I can get it on tape. And as long as one person aware that the conversation is being recorded it's legal. So, we'll see how things play out.

see if you can get a hold of the person that is the main man. be it state or local. he will the one to use it the best way. something with that blaser smelles like three week old dead fish on the lake shore. just my 2 cents.

I'd tell her she can have the money AFTER your property is recovered, After you get your stuff back, it's up to you what you do, money wise that is.
