Tools Needed to Replace GL1200 Stator

What are all of the tools needed to replace a stator on a 1986 1200 Aspencade? What is the best aftermarket stator to get and where? Do I need to replace the regulator thing as well?
Any advise would be great advise

There are no special tools needed for replacing the stator with another one. These how-to articles and videos detail the tools used as the work progresses:
