I am thinking of installing the Torque Monster pipes.

Any one have anything to say good or bad?

Have to be lighter than the stock collectors but that in itself is not much of a benefit.

Engine performance...is there a need?

I have to imagine that there is a need/market or it would not be avail.

But does it do anything positive?

Thanks in advance.

Jim.

i've heard its the real deal.

Do they not supply Dyno test results?
If your gaining torqueat a given rpm, then most likely you're loosing HP at that same rpm.

"This allows the GL1500 to put out the Torque and HP Honda designedinto it……."===> Oh Really?

I recently installed these on a 96 1500. Haven't had a chance to test for better performance yet but they sound way cool. With standard mufflers it is a little louder at idle but has a nice European sports car growl under way. On the go, you hardly notice.
The clamping arrangement is a bit of a bitch to get right and seal up.

I have a set on my bike......LOVE 'EM..... my bike sounds like a corvette not to loud just smooth, seems like I do get a little extra hp's

Put them on my 99, The have a great tone. Not a huge amount of feelable gain. But hearing the motor obviously makes you drive a little more throttle aggressive, seems to hit the rev limiter before you want it to. As noted in the other post clamping to make it not leak is a little testy. Cutting the old collector out makes it a quick install.

I have the GL1500 Daytona Power Daytona Muffler Set & TorqMonster Power Exhaust Chamber waiting for me at home (from Wing Stuff - they delivered them to the UK in under a week!!) and I'll be dyno'ing the 1500 when they're fitted. I already have my current pipes dyno'd to compare. Should be done in 2 weeks.

Will be looking for those test results Nitrowing

Absolutely...please post both results here or PM me.

I would love to see the diff if any.

Oh, forgot to mention. Please bookmark this thread, and then post the results in this thread. Makes a much better read for future researchers.

I have Torque Master Muffles on my 99 Se. I,d like to see how the Torque Master collectors work with them?

Since horsepower is torque over time, it is impossible for an engine to gain torque and lose horsepower at the same RPM. You are partially correct in that the torque/hp curve will likely change, usually gaining at higher RPM and losing at lower, with performance pipes.

I got home today and opened my box of pipes.
The silencers look fine but the connector pipes...

As I said earlier, I had these shipped from the USA to the UK. Honestly, they look like cheap rubbish :(
I'm not blaming the company who supplied them (unless they come back to me and tell me they inspected them!) but the manufacturers will be getting my email soon.

NitroWing, you could go ahead and post your current pipe Dyno figures just to stir our interest to the next level. Then after you install you could give us the new figures which would raise our eyebrows in consideration. After about a week you could then tell us what tweeks you are planning for the rejetting of the carbs and re-dyno once you have it fully tuned in. By this time several of us will be ordering your list of parts and following your instructions. It could make for a very active thread. Personally I will just sit on the sidelines and watch in envy, while I count my dimes and tuck away a few dollars into my Monster Torque fund.

By the way, I went to the Monster Torque site and the Dyno Figures for the 1500 did not pull up. If any of you can pull them, please post their figures. Funny, but they say you probably do not have to rejet for optimum settings. That would be nice, not having to rejet.

I think the thinner red and blue lines are the GL1800 output.
My current power are the dotted lines. Without nitrous, obviously!
This is the chart I got by itself.

You will get them cheaper from Wingstuff
http://tiny.cc/MdInP @ $264.99 and free shipping on orders over $199

I have a pair of what I believe are Jardine mufflers on my 1500. They were a bit loud until I fitted a pair of Torque master baffles. I talked to their man Jimmy Sones at Torque Master and he was quite helpful and answered all my questions.

Your other alternative is to replace the whole exhaust system with a stainless set from Motad www.motad.co.uk

I've submitted a contact form to motad to see if they have a dyno chart.

They look like a used set.
