Tossing around an idea.

I was in my dad's garage yesterday and found a set of mounts for the lower light bar that goes around the saddle bags on my 1100. He must have had them on his 1100 before he sold it, cause I the light bar wasn't anywhere to be found.

Any who, I thought it would be a nifty idea to build my own light bar, but instead of having the usual single filament, steady burn lights, I would use a three wire LED set up and integrate my turns signals into the running lights and possibly have a couple added in for an auxillary brake light.

Any ideas on what type of LED's to use, ie round, oval? I would like to find a set that are rectangular, but haven't been able to find any yet.

Just an idea. Let me know what you think of the idea.

I put some rectangular leds on the wing as markers. Found them at walmart in the trailer/rv section. The bigger stores had a better selection.

On the front of my bike there are lights on the fender trim which are triangular. I used a dremel to cut the lense off of a rectangular led (each side) and put the guts of the leds inside the triangular lenses... I guess what I am suggesting is, that you could use buy from superbright leds, too, then put them into whatever outer casing you want...
