ok guys, the bike tps wires are solid lime green, red with a white stripe, and dark green with a blue stripe. The auto one has a red wire with a yellow stripe, yellow with a white stripe, and green with a white stripe. i have a voltmeter just not sure how to match them up.

With an ohmeter find the common wire of the three, this wire will read resistance common to the up and the down position of the TPS. Look at the potentiometer and find the 2 outer wires and measure the resistance. If you cannot see the pot itself as it may be encapsulated do this: label the wires A, B, C. Move the TPS to about the middle of its rotation. Measure A-B, B-C and C-A. Of all the readings the highest ohmage should be the leads that attach to each end of the potentiometer, adjusting the pot will not vary the readings. The lower readings and if you are lucky enough to have the TPS in dead center you will get equal readings from one high side and from the other high/low side. So if A and C are highest possible reading say 5000 ohms, then A to B and B to C will add up to 5000 ohms since the middle wire B represents the center tap for the potentiometer. Now all you do is match the swing of the pot to the swing of the throttle plate and center throttle position will read 50% of full 5000 ohms. If you find that you cannot match higher to lower your throttle will read idle when in fact it is wide open and wide open when in fact it is in the idle position. Then switch the outside wires. Try this with both items and then match them up. You need to also match the resistance values of the OEM pot, otherwise the ECM or other reading device will put the throttle is some other position for its fuel managing system.
