THIS I THINK IS THE CORRECT SPELLING FOR CABARNET RED, THIS 06 MODEL HAS ABS, HEATED GRIPS, HEATED SADDLE, NOT THAT CONVINCED ABOUT THE COLOUR ANY ADVICE TO A NEW MEMBER.THANKS :?:?:?:?:?

:waving:Welcome and Hello . I cant see the picture but I am sure its a nice bike what ever the color . I hope you enjoy many happy miles . I would say try and get a service history if you can . I am sure some 1800 owners will be along soon who would have more/better advice .

Your picture link is wrong so we can't see your new Wing.

If you haven't had a test ride on an 1800 Wing yet, you will be hooked once you do. Power, brakes, handling, the 1800 has it all. Don't get me wrong mate, the 1500 Goldwing is a fine machine in its own right, but the benefit of the newer technology is all in the newer model.

Welcome GEROWING

I believe it is Cabernet Red (dark red). In any case I went from an 89 1500 that was Wineberry Red to an 08 1800 that is Caliente Red (medium red).

Things I miss about the 1500...
Larger trunk and saddle bags
Wider fairing on cold days
M/C tires that lasted over 20,000 miles
My custom Road Sofa seat

Things I like about my 1800...
Improved Handling
Better suspension
Extra power
Heated seats, grips, foot warmers
Fuel injection
Not waiting for the bike to warm up - start it and go
Improved forward lighting
Larger easier to see display
Better Sound system

I'm sure I could add stuff to both lists if I thought about it. I made the switch after I made the mistake of taking an 1800 for a test ride.:action:

Congratulations, & welcome aboard! As an 06 owner, I can tell you, you're gona enjoy the power & control the 1800 brings. The sound system is much better, than the older models. The comfort features are a plus for the 06 as well. I hope you have many years of enjoyment, with your "new" Wing.
