O:k followers. was going to back the trike off the platform tonight. Now a couple times after sitting for a while i had to put in first then neutral bofore it would go in reverse. this was the cause tonight. So I put in the gear and it stalled, Three times. Now I know something is up. After a couple minutes of thought I remembered I disconnected the Kick stand switch. SO .......................................I'm guessing I need to plug it back in and just tie it up. Any thoughts???

also looking for some ideas on mounting the back side of the side battery cover. I use to mount into the front of the side saddle bags. Of course there gone now. Not sure what to do with them. I'll post a pic later.

Sorry Bob. well first time out and Found the steering to be Something that wants to control itself. Lots of wobble in the steering and resistance in the steering. (hard to steer) This is how I started tire pressure-----20 .lbs in the rear tires and 31 .lbs front. went to i think 39 front and 30 rear. I spoke to someone that has built a couple and his suggestion was 41 front and drop the left rear to 20 and right rear to 22. Or lower in rear if needed but keep the 2 pond split in rear. In addition the rear gear selection seems to high. (308) I have the stock tree as well.

What did you end up deciding the rear axle was? Mustang/Ranger? 7.75 ford?
if it is 7.75 Ford i can get 3.55 gears fairly easily, most my off road friends throw them away

Steering is something you will have to get used to as you are running 30 degrees of caster which is a lot. The offset trees help as they reduce the trail (does not change the rake) but it will still do the waddle and at times be hard to steer.
18-22 psi is about right on the rear as anything more and you will experience bounce and poor tire life. 35 is about right on the front and bias plys tend to ride softer too.
Here is an example of what you are up against on the 30 degree rake (caster) http://ido-endeavor.com/why-reverse/

I guess the best advice I can offer is to just ride and get accustom to the handling, in time it will feel more natural.

I put 120k on my trikes before I ever rode a standard trike and believe me it was an unexpected and enlightening experience. Since then I have ridden several brands of conventional trikes and found they all run about the same but now it's becoming natural even for me.

Not 100% sure on my front tire? Bias or radial on the front of a trike??? 4.5 or 6 degree. I thought some where I saw a formula to calculate wheel base and so on.

There is a 2.79 ratio available, tag will read WDY-AS likely an automatic pinto or Bobcat. Ford always put a higher ratio in automatic than standard

O:k. I want to tackle the hard steering issue first I guess before moving onto the ratio. One thing I thought about earlier was the f-tire. I'm not sure if I have bias or radial. I'm sure I want a radial on the front.
