pepmyster, I have an '85 GL1200I that I would not hesitate to ride anywhere. If you know that your bike has been maintained well, I say go for it (even though unexpected things can/will happen).

If you don't already have one, I would recommend getting some type of roadside towing service. HDL sells one for around $100.00 and it's good for for five years.

Thanks for the input. Bike is running very well, like I said,or maybe not, This is my first bike. Been on 4 hour trips, but nothing long like this!
