I finally figured out where those springs and beveled bushings go that I found after my last fork rebuild. (Don't ask why I had to remove the trunk to do the springs, it's a long story). But how are they held on to the attachment bolts on the bottom of the trunk?

For better explanation, on the bottom of the trunk the two posts that go into the hold down latches that go into the locks have a spring and a beveled bushing that go into the locks. But I can't figure out how they are supposed to stay on the hold down bolts. Do the beveled bushing have a washer or smaller opening on the back to it stays on the posts?

If you don't get an answer please PM me and tomorrow I will go outside and look, as I have an 80 parked in my neighbors garage. Had to move it for Irene. I would bet there is a clip like the ones that hold the springs on old drum brakes. Just a guess until I look.
