I was told by another Wing rider that you can purchase a set of small rubber like bushings (not sure what they are called)that attach to the lower trunk to keep the lid from rubbing away the color. My 04 Wing is White, and you can see where the color has been worn away because the trunk lid does not fit correctly when closed. Can someone give the name of the product or where I might purchase a set.

thank you. I experimented by placing a rubber pad about 1/4 inch highand that lifted it up some, but I could see that the rubber pads need to be about 3/8 of an inch. I was thinking about going to lowes or home depot to see if I could buy bushings about 1/4" X 3/8. thanks again.

Thanks Dave

Next week I have the bike scheduled for another warranty repair at the Honda dealer, who knows, maybe they will do the right thing and fix it.

Thank you so much. I went to that site and printed the informaiton, plus I made it a bookmark. You were right on the money about this problem. My tabs on the L/side are nearly worn away, and show black when the trunk in open. And would you believe I only have 16k on this bike. At the rate of ware, the tabs will be totally gone by 20k. Thank you again for tip, and I'll be sure to pass it on to my other Wing rider friends.

You would think that Honda would make thevender'sthatmake the trunks for the 1800 Wingdo a better job of quality control. My 04 Wing cost me $17,600.00, and yea I already know I paid to much, but having owned two other wings ( 82 & 95 ) I bought on past reliability and workmanship. When I compare the 95 SE to the 04 its easy to see Honda has fallen to lower standard of fit & finish, and quality control. But they make upfor it bycharging us more. But the o4 does ride well, with incredible gasmileageat high speeds. Thanks to everyone for the replies and help with my misaligned trunk problem.
