Hi Everyone,

Just thought I pass along that I just put on a trunk relocation kit and it was a breeze about 15 minutes tops. Think it took longer to get my FR trauma bag and other gear out of the trunk than to actually put it on :D

The big test will be in the morning when mamma tests it out.

Now all I need is to have my Hartco seat here already :clapper:at 6'4" the stock seat is killing me. Talked to Mike from Hartco (by the way seemed like a real nice guy) and he took all my wife's and my measurements and it should be here middle of next month. Hopefully it will get here before my birthday, couse me and the wife wanna take a two day ride to nowhere:D in particular

By the way the trunk is cracked and will be replaced this winter.

Hey Ray, do you still have the instruction set for that relocation kit? I bought a used one from a local dealer and he didn't have a copy. They're supposed to work for the 1100's and 1200's. I have an 1100.

I did obtain a scanned copy of the instructions from a seller on ebay but the resolution is terrible when I increase the view in order to read it. I don't think I got all the hardware with it either, just 4 bolts with spacers on them, seems to me there should be 4 more bolts at least.

My wife sure could use the extra 2 inches it gives her as my backrest bothers her legs.

Hey Bagmaster, Your in luck, I will scan that this afternoon for you after I take a nap :Dbeen up since yesterday and am kind tired. plus it is in garage in one of my manuals that I printed off from this great site.

You should have recieved the bracket, 4 bolts, 4 lock washers and 4 spacers. Make sure you use the lock washers as you don't want it to losen up on you. The 4 bolts for the trunk are reused for securing the trunk to the bracket. The nuts welded on the bracket go on bottom side of the bracket once on the bike.

A side note.....My wife loved the extra 2-3 inches it gave her and it also let me slide back a bit to:clapper:

Thanks Ray for doing that, go get some sleep, I can wait. My bracket doesn't have nuts welded to it as it's the model that flips over depending on which model bike you're mounting it to.

Well, the damn thing don't line up if you go by the poorly written instructions. Whoever wrote them ought to be hung out to dry. The instructions don't even tell you which side should be up depending if you're putting it on a 1100 or a 1200. It has separate instructions for each.

The instructions about using the left screw mount hole for each lock isn't correct either. The holes on the braket doesn't line up with both holes. I have Add On's site in my bookmarks, think I'm gonna send them a nice little email.

Bagmaster:

If yours is the removeable top box (Like mine) The relocation kit is a easy fab. I beleve LilPete has pics in his album and I have some that was emailed to me as well. If they will help let me know. I moved mine back about 3 1/2" and it was the best thing I could have done. Much more comfortable for 2 up and alot easer to get into the side bags aswell.

Looks like LilPete made his own extension brakets so he could still remove the trunk whenever he wants too. Maybe I need to get him to make me a set. I'm willing to pay for them. Or I could just print out his pics and see what my brother has in his metal stock to make some from.

I forwarded his emails to you with instructions. They are easy to make, all you need is the metal cut to size, a few bolts, and a drill. It is easy and you can move it as much or as little as you need.
