I want to install LEDs replacing all my incandescent bulbs on my '84 GL1200 Interstate. I understand I will need to replace the turn signal and emergency flasher relays (same part # on my '84 GL1200).

I have several questions:
1) Where are these relays located (under the false gas tank)?
2) How many pins (3 or 4)?
I have found I believe is designed for the flashers (CF 13 JL-02 Flasher for LED 12V
0.02A-20.0A).
3) Do I have to remove the false gas tank to replace these units?
4) Do I also need to replace the turn signal cancel unit with an electronic (LED) unit?

I had a problem with my '83 Aspencade. Original flasher had three wires. When I tried to hitch up a new flasher, it fried. I mean fried, smoke and all. So, be careful, use the hot and ground only. Maybe other members can understand what I did that was wrong?

install resistors for the turn signals, you can keep the same flashers.
there is no such canceling unit for leds nor anything else that can be fitted to replace the original.
