Tuscaloosa-Jefferson County fun ride

Guys and gals, I would like to invite any and all wingers to come on over to Tuscaloosa to meet up with Nightwizard40, NightHawk and myself for a day of riding and a pretty good meal over at the Pottery Grill BBQ.

We talked about it but have not set a date for it so if you have a date in mind, by all means shout it out. If you want to come over, holler at me here and tell me when you would like to come over. I have my class reunion the 11-13 of July so any date other than that weekend is good for me. I have a Red Knights club meeting the third weekend but could make it on Sunday but would rather wait until the 4th weekend of July, the 25th.

For anyone that would like to come over and maybe camp, there is a nice campground that is about 4 miles from my house and it has a nice pool and lake as well and there is also a place Buck showed me over outside of Leeds Alabama called 29 Dreams that is pretty nice as well, I think it is more like an hour drive or so from my house but closer to Nightwizard40. Lake Lurleen is also about 20 minutes away from me and has a real nice campground and lake as well.

We could make it a two day ride if enough interest is shown. There is a really nice ride from Tuscaloosa up hwy 69 and then over to hwy 43 and back as well as some very nice riding over on Lock 17 Rd back to Birmingham and we could ride up the mountain and stop in at 29 Dreams.

I would love to get as many folks that are up to having a good ride and enjoy some great food come over an enjoy some good times.

Heck, let's just make it a good old fashion southern style meet and greet!! We'll come for the whole weekend! Weekends in the first part of a month are better for me, money runs out toward the end of the month.

We can make it the first weekend of August if that means you can come on down and visit with us BM!! Like I said, there are some pretty good camping sites here close by! Hopefully we can get all the guys from down this way to drive over and spend the weekend for a two day ride.

Popeye, you can still ride over and go for a spin with us, we ain't prejudiced, we would let anybody ride with us....lol.

We can do the 2nd weekend in August. My disability checks don't come in the mail till the 3rd of each month and the 1st of August is on a Friday.

I know what you mean there buddy, mine come on the 1st as well and it's a long time until the next month for sure.

How bout the third weekend instead?? I have a family reunion on the 8th of August that I cannot get out of. The kids go back to school that week as well and I will need a getaway the next week for sure.

They are having the Sturgis South Rally over in Sturgis Mississippi the weekend of the 15th and it is only like a hour and 45 minute ride over there from Tuscaloosa, if anyone would like to go over and check it out. We have plenty of good roads to ride if no one wants to do that though.

Anyone have any objections to the third weekend of August???

Dang, just found out something. The 3rd weekend of August is when we're having the PGR over the Smokies meet. The 21-23rd.

Maybe you guys would like to come up for this and make it a combined event so to speak. I might even be able to round up some Carolina Apple Jack for this. :D:D:shock::shock:

On the weekend of 21, 22, 23 August the Kickstand Lodge in Stecoah NC ( http://www.kickstandlodge.com ) will serve as home base and Good Time Central for Patriot Guard Riders who wish to unwind, enjoy the company of fellow patriots and do some riding on the best roads possible.

Take a look at the website and if the rustic approach just ain't your bag you still ride with us and stay at nearby Freeman's Motel. Freeman's offers both motel rooms and mountain home rentals. ( http://www.freemansmotel.com/ )

We'll do some riding. Some may want to try whitewater rafting (seveal outfitters nearby) but most importantly this is R & R for the spirit.

We'll laugh. We'll talk. And yes, we will keep our promise.........we'll remember those for whom we have stood.

South Carolina PGR has been doing this for a couple years. Please join us. We are all brothers and sisters.

I think we will go ahead and have it here on 25th of July and talk with you about coming up there in August!! I will look into getting a room up there and talk with the missus about it.
