Hi all, I did a search but couldn't find what I was looking for. My question is how often does the 1500 series wing have ujoint failures?

I don't seem to read of it often and wonder how many miles you all are getting before replacing this part.:baffled:

thanks much

U-joints on all models of 'Wing seem to last nearly forever, failures are very rare.

I have done a few universal joint replacements on 1500's . Both were due to failure (tears) in the rubber boot which allowed water to enter, wash away the grease and eventually ruin the joint. Keep an eye on the boot and also when you have the oppurtunity remove the rearend/driveshaft and lube the joint on both ends with moly 60 grease and you should not have any problems with it at all..........GM
