I have just had an update from the main organiser of the run, now that all the cards are in and counted. The final figure is 12,500euro. This was an excellent result, as the morning of the run was very bad and the weather forecast was terrible. So a big THANK YOU:clapper::clapper::clapper: to all who braved the elements and turned out for sucha worthy cause. The organisation :jumper:eek:n the day was top class, starting with registration/tea and coffee and of course the local TDs:grinner::grinner::grinner:were there to get a bit of publicity, even they were impressed with the number of goldwings present. We had agarda motorcyclist leading all the way and marshals closing off all side roads and roundabouts. The garda kept a good pace going and the marshals had a great time catching up with the main bunch, it made for a great day and the weather did not cause any bother to everyones relief. We had a lot of stops for collections on the way and this gave all the:baffled: spectators:baffled: a chance to get a good look at the wings (Wexman:18red:was very busy explaining:stumped:and demonstrating the attributes of theGOLDWING to an ever increasingaudience). Refreshments were served in Gorey bya group of ladies, some of whom would rather have been on the bikes rather than making tea, thanks to all of them as it was really appreciated by everyone. We finally made it back to Wexford ahead of schedule and done a tour of the town which was crowded with shoppers in for the festival andgiving us a great reception. It was then on to the Farmers Kitchen on the Rosslare road for a lovely meal to finish off a perfect run that went like clockwork from start to finish and all due credit to :weightlifter:Mick Rice:weightlifter: and his team for a successful "LAST BLAST RUN No2".
