Upgrade to 1800! Now what's this sound?

I upgraded to a 2001 1800, and I love it. I came from a 1995 1500, and the power difference is rediculous.

Ok, so here it is. Overall, the bike runs flawlessly, I can't really find anything wrong with it. But, in Neutral...or 1st gear taking off sometimes.... when I give her a big "rev" there is occasionally a clunk or rattle that feels like it comes from under my seat. Not sure, maybe clutch? Maybe normal?

I read some, that a noise in these is common but I am not sure if that is it. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Sounds normal to me Robert. Clunk and groan is common on the GL1800.

I can get a rattle out of mine in only one spot, coming uphill into my carport if I lug the engine. Otherwise never heard a clunk or felt anything through the seat.

I have no idea on the 1800 but mechanically speaking does it in neutral too,
Could something be loose?

I road a 1800 for a couple hundred miles mostly highway, never noticed any unusual clunks or growls. It would growl if lugged but that's obvious.
