Man, what a week this has been!
I sold my GL1200 Thursday morning, and rode home the GL1500 tonight. I put alot of work into the 1200 and will miss it. But it went to an owner that definately will appreciate it and take care of her. So she is in good hands!

Now on to to GL1500...
I picked this girl up for 2900.00 and she is a peach! 1988 with Lots of chrome goodies and lighting. Needs tires, but thats pretty much it.... Well cared for machine. Rode it home 70 miles and was grinning ear to ear the whole way.

Thank you!
Lets ride! Just gotta get the tires replaced. The rear is basically bald, and the front is cupped pretty bad.

Just a question though, it has the E3's on it,... are the 1500's supposed to have radials on them? Or are the standard E3's ok to run? Might be a dumb question, but I was told on the 1200 that the Aspy had to run radials, and the Interstate didnt.... not sure why, it didnt seem there was "that" big of a difference in load between trims...

Hit me up Flyone via pm and I will give ya my number so we can hook up sometime.

I'm hoping to pick-up a GL1500 myself on Sunday (fingers crossed).

Congrats on the 1500!! I know I upgraded from a 1200 LTD to a 90 1500 SE and LOVE IT!!

The only Wings that run radials I believe are the 1800's. E3's in bias ply are good tires. I have them on mine and they are wearing great and handle pretty good.

I run E3's on my 95 1500 and like them. Just changed out the front tire after 24,000 miles.

Very well cared for. Yup you stole it for that price

Nice bike. You'll love it.

As mentioned above, the tires are normallybias. You can run radials if you want, and if you can find them, but they are rare.

E3's are really poplular. Most people love em.

I personally don't like them. I prefer the Metzlers.

I haven't tried Avon's yet....

The nice thing is you will now have a lot more choices in tires.

Thanks for all the replys! I am still kinda of in shock on the price... It has 168k on the clock, since I didnt mention that in the original post..

Thanks for the answers on the tires... I had just put tires on the 1200 before I sold it,... so this will be interesting to see what the price difference will be.... LOL

Congratulations, good looking ride.

Mick, I know what you mean. I too stepped up from a 1200 to my 1500. What a difference! Be sure to keep the tires well inflated. That will reduce the cupping, and will help increase slow speed responsiveness of the steering.
