My bike is an 83 Interstate. The upper fork tubes have a couple of nicks in them that will take out the seals soon. I am planning to put Progressive springs in them sometime in the next couple of months and figured that I would replace the fork uppers at the same time. I see lots of forks advertised on ebay but I need to know what all interchanges before I commit to anything. Will any of the 1200 uppers interchange? What about 1000's?

thanks,
Andy

Thanks for the info. There are a couple of sets on ebay right now from 1100's. I will just concentrate on that.

PM Lopeha, he bought new tubes recently from somewhere pretty reasonably priced if I remember right.

If you would like to have new ones made up, these guys can provide brand new parts, custom machined locally here in AZ.

I had them install new fork tubes on my 1200. They were stronger then the OEM units.

For the same reason you mention, pitting was ruining the seals.
