Was out gathering up parts at Napa and Honda dealership for up coming 60K service on my GL1100I. While at the dealership, I was looking at a used 1994 GL1500SE. Nice bike, 89000 miles, minor scatches and a missing cover on right saddlebag under speaker. But overall a real nice bike with all the goodies. I asked the sales girl what they wanted for it and with a pretty smile she said $13400. I asked her why in the world would anyone give that much for a well used bike when for about $4k more I could buy a new one in Dallas? (Here in Killeen/Ft Hood area make that 6K.) I thanked her and told her that I think I'll keep my 81. I got home, and started looking at e-bay and I could have got a lot nicer bike for a lot less. It is bad enough that I had to give $46 for a couple of gaskets and o-rings (about $2 in materials ) but I don't see how they can ask about $4K more for a bike than it is worth in my opinion. I don't think the bike cost that much new in 94.:(

Talked to my friend who works in the service department, said that the bike was a trade in on a 05 GW, dealer only gave $3500 trade in for it, considering that the average sales price there is $2k over MSRP, that means basically they got the bike for free. Heck of a profit if they sell it for that. Guess they need the money for the new building they moved into last month.:)

BTW, Redwing, the girl was pretty, but not that pretty.:D
