Some of you know I have had issues with my tuning switch lately. I bought a unit off of a '87 Aspy and when I got it, it only had four wires on it and since my switch had 5 wires in the switch and I thought it wouldn't work.

I slit the wire covers on my unit the other night and was trying to trace the wires and the problems I was having. I found out that the mute wire was spliced off of the white common wire. I realized the switch would work so I cut off the wires and spliced the newer switch into the existing wires.

I still don't have the tune down feature, but at least I can change the channels more than once while going down the highway these days.

I couldn't mount the new switch the way it was mounted because it doesn't have the screw hole in it so I cleaned and degreased it and the turn unit and then glued it in place like it was on my bike. Any how, thought some of you might be interested in what I did.

Don't throw the other switch away, they are hard to find these days.
