I'm no mechanic, but just installed the Utopia Driver Backrest. Used the instructions of Steve's Biker Workshop page (and the video) and it was a snap.

Thanks. If I can do this, anyone can.

Welcome to the forum Raz. That video clip has probably helped Utopia sell more backrests than ever!

What video is this? Elder girl is buying me a Utopia for Christmas and I'm coming all over with cold shivers at the thoughts of fitting it.

Andy, I have fitted one to mine less than two moths ago, you are more than welcome to come over and fit yours here, or I don't mind coming to you and helping you take a carving knife to your seat. Trust me it is painless!!

So what are you gonna do with the new one Phil, keep it for when you sell the bike, or swap it and get shot of the backrest one?

Well I am sorry that you regret the cutting, I am not worried about mine. The only draw back is that I don't get to nestle into my signifigant other half when she is on the back, so I wish I had ordered the quick release pin, so I could remove it when we are both on board.:(

Thanks Wexman. I downloaded the video clip and it looks easier than I thought. Steves tips about lining up centre should make it hard to go wrong, its a really great clip even if the Irish accent is hard to follow. I can't find a donation link, if there is one please show me as its the least I should do for this help.
