I recently posted about a slight backfire on overrun on the left hand side and several kind people said that it could be a split or bent vacumm pipe.

So far I have the left hand fairing off (with a little help about removing the reverse lever) and I cannot see any obvious pipes. Where do I go from here please ?

To find one of the vaccuum lines, lift up the black rubber mat above the spark plugs. (If you look on the left side of the photo below the vents that are below the 4 switch panel you will see the plugs and the mat) Unfortunately the vacuum line that most have problems with is below the carbs and would require a lot more digging including removing the carbs. Try lifting up that black rubber mat and hope that it is only the vaccum line under there.

You can get to the vacuum pipes at the front end of the carbs without pulling the carbs, you will need to pull the air filter box.
